Ohio State Football: Urban Meyer Will Step Down as Ohio State’s Coach by Casey Campbell

It’s the end of an Era at Ohio State as Ohio State Football Coach Urban Meyer will be stepping down after the Rose Bowl Game on January 2nd. Meyer has spent the last seven seasons at Ohio State and has accomplished a lot in those seven seasons. Some of his accomplishments include seven straight wins against the Wolverines of Michigan, three Big Ten titles, and a National Championship in 2014.  He will leave Ohio State with an 81-9 record in seven seasons.

A press conference will be held at 2 pm from Columbus to make this news official. Ohio State Offensive Coordinator, Ryan Day, will be named the Head Coach next season.  He coached the first three games of the season when Meyer was suspended due to the Zach Smith scandal. Meyer’s career record is impressive as well including three national championships, with two being at Florida (2006, 2008) and one at Ohio State (2014). With winning three big Ten Championships, Meyer has also won two SEC Championships while at Florida and two Mountain West Titles while at Utah (2003, 2004). It’s not known if Urban Meyer will ever step foot on the sidelines again, but if he doesn’t, he sure has an impressive record at the college level.
