Macomb Dakota Football Player Profile: Trevor Duff

Wide receiver Trevor Duff is enjoying his senior season at Macomb Dakota and says the team has come together in the last few weeks. “The season is going well,” Duff said. “We have come together as a unit on offense and defense in the last two weeks. We fixed most of our problems on offense, and our defense has come together as the playmakers we knew they were,” Duff commented.

Duff is a wide receiver for the Cougars and enjoys making the big plays to help his team win the game. “It’s fun being a receiver. The thrill of catching the ball and making plays upfield is like nothing else. I like to bear defenses when I get behind the secondary and get left open, seeing the ball come my way is just a great feeling,” Duff mentioned.

Duff got into football at the age of five, and since then, he has loved the sport and credits his dad for getting him into not just football but sports in general. “My dad got me into sports. I played flag football starting when I was five, and I’ve been playing ever since. He played sports in high school and got me into it at a young age. He had me playing baseball and football, but throughout the years, I expanded and got into other things, but football has been my favorite of all sports. I played flag football at five years old and tackle football at nine years old with the Macomb Mustangs and continuing to play at Dakota,” Duff added.

Football has taught Duff a lot about the game but has also taught him lessons that he will use for the rest of his life. “Football has taught me to overcome adversity, how to be compatible, leadership, not to give up, and be committed,” Duff said.

Duff is a senior this year and will miss a lot about high school football when it’s all over. “That Friday night energy and all the kids I’ve been playing with since 4th grade. Friday nights where the whole school gathers in the stands to watch us take on the opponents. It’s just a great feeling to know everyone out there is supporting us,” Duff stated.

Macomb Dakota will host Utica Stevenson this Friday Night.
