LACROSSE: Drexel Defeats Michigan 17-16



The Michigan Wolverines lost in double overtime to the Drexel Dragons 17-16 and are currently 1-1 on the season.


The Wolverines got off to a 4-0 lead in the game and held Drexel off for the first few minutes of the first quarter of the game. It was also a big game for Brent Noseworthy as he got his 100th career point in the game. He is the third Michigan Lacrosse player in history to do so. Sophomore Kevin Mack had four goals and three assists while sophomore Alex Bucknavage had four goals.


In the fourth quarter, it was all Drexel as they scored seven goals in the and outscored Michigan 14-5 in the quarter. Reid Bowering led the Dragons with seven goals in the game.  Both Nick Fox and Collin Mailman had three goals in the game as well. In the end, it was Cam Stevens who had the game-winning goal in overtime to give Drexel the Victory over the Wolverines.


Michigan outshot Drexel 46-45 and held a 21-16 advantage in faceoffs. Both teams also had 19 turnovers on the day. Michigan’s next game is Saturday at Jacksonville.  Coverage begins at 11:30 on CBS Sports Network.
