The Season starts for real Tuesday Night as the Michigan Basketball Team will take on Appalachian State to start the 2019-20 basketball season. The Wolverines are coming off an 81-59 win over Saginaw Valley State in an exhibition on Friday Night.
The Players to watch for the Wolverines are Isaiah Livers who had 20 points in the game against Saginaw Valley State on Friday Night. Brandon Johns also impressed with 12 points on the night. Eli Brooks had a double-double in the win against Saginaw Valley State.
The Michigan Defense also impressed against Saginaw Valley State as they had 29 points off 20 SVSU Turnovers on Friday Night.
Appalachian State will play its first game of the season on Tuesday Night Against the Wolverines. The Mountaineers finished 11-21 last season and were 6-12 in the Sun Belt Conference.
Players to watch for Appalachian State are Junior Guard Justin Forrest who averaged 16 points a game last season. He is 69 points shy of reaching the 1,000 point mark in his career at App State. Forrest Was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Second Team.
Also, Senior Forward Issac Johnson will be one to watch as well for App State. He averages 10.0 points a game and shoots 51.2% from the field. He was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference Third Team.
This will also mark the Head Coaching Debut of Juwan Howard. Howard is in his first year as the Michigan Basketball coach after John Beilein left for the Cleveland Cavaliers
