After months of searching, the Howell Football program has found a new head football coach, and they didn’t have to go far to find him.
On Friday, Howell Public Schools announced that they selected Brian Lewis as its next head coach. Lewis replaces Aaron Metz, who was not brought back after the 2019 season. Lewis spent the last two seasons at Plymouth High School, where he spent two seasons as its head coach and had a 15-6 record while at the school and went to the playoffs in both seasons.
Lewis was chosen by a committee that included former college players, parents of Howell football players, current high school coaches, and one current Howell football player.
“I am extremely excited to be apart of the Howell community. Thank you to Mr. MacGregor, John Young, and Jason Schrock for having faith in me to lead this program,” said Lewis in a statement. “ I look forward to meeting with Highlander Nation and getting to work for the upcoming season,” Lewis continued.
Lewis will meet with Football Families on Thursday at 6 PM.
