Brownsburg Football Player Profile: Ben Easters

After another successful season, Brownsburg Football’s Ben Easters is already preparing for the 2020 season. “I’m very excited. We have a strong senior group, and I think we have a strong shot at winning it all. Our senior class is really close-knit so that helps a lot. We have a lot of returning starters on offense and a few on defense, but we have lots of seniors who are going to step up on defense,” Easters said.

Easters is a quarterback for Brownsburg and says he enjoys the position. “It’s awesome being a quarterback. I love that it puts me in a leadership role because I love leading and trying to motivate my teammates. As a quarterback, I feel like you’re naturally in a role of leadership, and I like having that responsibility put on me,” Easters commented.

To mentally prepare for a game, Easters always looks over the playbook and film so he can be ready for the opponent. “I generally look over the playbook and the plays we put in for the week to make sure I have all the plays down. I also rewatch some film of the opposing team to know what I’m going against,” Easters said.

Easters isn’t surprised that he is heading into his senior year and wants to make this season his best yet. “It’s all gone by really fast. I’m very excited about it and ready to embrace the challenges and try and win a state title. I can’t believe it’s my senior season, but I’m very excited about it, and we should have an excellent season if we play to our full potential,” Easters said.

Last season, Easters decided where he was going to play his college football as he will be playing at Kansas. The coaching staff led by Les Miles is what sold him to the school. “It’s a great staff with a mentality to win in the future. The staff is the same, and they’re going to build this program up and create a winning culture with the players. That’s something I’m excited about,” Easters mentioned.
