La Salle Football Player Profile: Jake Seibert

Jake Seibert is getting ready for another season of La Salle Football and the wide receiver/kicker is excited to get his senior season going. “I’m super excited,” said Siebert. “We have a new quarterback, a stronger and more experienced line, and some D1 talent across the board, and I’ve been waiting to come back since the day the season ended.”

Seibert’s primary position is the kicker and is one of the top kickers in the nation entering the 2019 season.  He has been working all offseason for this moment. “I’ve gotten a lot stronger over the offseason, and I’m hoping to make some big kicks this year and hit tons of touchbacks.”

Siebert is a senior this year at La Salle and cannot believe that the time has flown by. “It feels like it has only been a year. Time flew by, and I’m excited to finish my career at Lasalle with the guys I came with as a freshman. We have a lot of talent on the team, and I’m glad I can take part in leading those guys to become the best they can be,” Siebert mentioned.

Siebert will be playing his college football at The Ohio State University next year, and he has always wanted to go there ever since he was a kid. “Ohio State has been a dream school for me all my life. My uncle lives in the Columbus area so my family can visit for free whenever they want. It was the closest place to home that was still far from home. I’m very familiar with the school, especially with having a connection with Drue Chrisman. I’m familiar with other guys committed in the 2020 class that I’m excited to team up with in Columbus. There are tons of reasons why I felt like it was the best fit for me. Not to mention Coach Barnes played a huge role in my recruitment, and I know he cares about me as a player.

Being mentally prepared for a game is important to Siebert, but before a game, he has his routine to be mentally ready for a game. “I finish out the school day, have a team mass, eat and get all my gear on. By the time we step foot on the field, I’m ready to play. That’s just my mentality when I get on the field. I’m just playing what I love,” Siebert added.

With it being his senior season, Siebert has some big goals and wants to make his senior season the best he has ever had. “My personal goals are to go 100% on FG’s and to improve my touchback percentage. Some team goals are to win the GCL and to win the state championship because I know we have the guys to do it,” Siebert stated.
