Lomira High School Football Player Profile: Bennett Broeske

How do you think Football season went for you?

I think the season went well. I wish I could have made a couple more plays that would have led to a few more victories for my team.

What does it take to be a good quarterback?

It takes a positive mindset and a good understanding of the offense you are running. You also need to be a vocal leader on the team.

Why did you want to be a quarterback?

I wanted to be a quarterback because I have always had an above average arm and I really enjoy leading my team out onto the field.

How do you celebrate a Touchdown?

I get into the endzone and flex, then run to the sidelines and do a big chest bump with one of my coaches.

What are home games like for you?

At Lomira, we have one of the best athletic complexes in the state so all of the home games are amazing. The whole community comes out to support every friday night.

What are road games like for you?

The field is never as nice as our home field, but our fans always travel well. I enjoyed playing on the road because there is a certain pride that came with beating someone on their field.

How do you mentally prepare for a game?

I go through the playbook once before each game and I watch film on the opponent for about 20 minutes on game day.

What has Football taught you?

It has taught me how to persevere through tough times, how to be a good leader, and how to treat people with respect.

What will you miss about high school Football?

I will miss the feeling that I got every friday. The feeling that I got from walking the halls with my jersey on, and how the whole community would come together to support us. But most of all, I will miss running out onto the field with all of my teammates, there is nothing else like it.

What are your plans for next year?

I have not made any decisions yet. But I am looking for a school where I could play football or baseball, or maybe both.
