Michigan Defeats Rutgers 52-0

The Michigan Wolverines bounced back after a major loss to Wisconsin last week. The Wolverines defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 52-0. it was the first time that Michigan Shutout a team since they did it against Rutgers back in 2016. 

The day started off well for the Wolverines as Nico Collins scored a touchdown to get Michigan on the board with a 7-0 lead. Shea Patterson then made it a 14-0 lead right off the bat in the first quarter. 

Shea Patterson than scored another touchdown on his second rushing touchdown of the day to put the Wolverines up 21-0 in the second quarter. Jake Moody kicked a field goal to make it 24-0 lead before halftime. 

In the second half, Michigan kept on the pressure as RB Christian Turner scored his first career touchdown to put the Wolverines up 31-0. Shea Patterson rushed in for another Touchdown for the Wolverines to make it 38-0. 

Michigan would score two touchdowns in the fourth and would win the game 52-0. It was a good day for Shea Patterson as he threw for 276 yards and a touchdown but would have one interception. Michigan improves to 3-1 on the year and 1-1 in Big Ten Play. 

This would also be the last game for Rutgers Head Coach Chris Ash as he would be fired the day after this game. 

Michigan will host Iowa next week at Noon
