Michigan Defeats Appalachian State 79-71

The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Appalachian State Mountaineers 79-71 in Juwan Howard’s Coaching Debut with Michigan. 

Jon Teske started off strong for the Wolverines by scoring the first 11 points of the game for the Wolverines which led to a 16-5 lead in the first TV Timeout.

The Wolverines lead 46-25 lead by halftime. Teske led the team with 15 points at the half and Colin Castleton, Isaiah Livers and Eli Brooks each added 8 points. 

App State came alive in the second half going on an 18-0 run which made it a 6 point game with under three minutes left. The Mountaineers then got it down to a 72-67 game with a minute left to go. Michigan ended up hanging on to win 78-71 in the Season Opener. 

Eli Brooks led the Wolverines with 24 points which are a career-high for Junior. Jon Teske had 17 points and Isaiah Livers had 14 points on the night. 

On an Unrelated Note Former Fab Five Members Jalen Rose and Jimmy King also attended the game where their Fab Five Teammate Juwan Howard made his coaching debut. 

Michigan’s next game will be on November 12th against Creighton
