The Brighton Bulldogs defeated the Belleville Tigers 22-19 to advance to the State Finals at Ford Field for the first time in School History.

The Tigers had beaten the Bulldogs in the three previous matchups before this one. This would be the first time that Brighton and Belleville would meet in the playoffs.

The Game was a back and forth game throughout but Brighton sealed the game in the fourth quarter with under a minute left when Brighton Quarterback Colby Newburg threw a jump ball in the endzone and it was brought down by Nick Nemecek to give Brighton the one-point lead with 50 seconds to go. Brighton would convert the 2 point conversion to put them up by 3 with under a minute left.

The Bulldogs would stop a late drive by Belleville to win the game 22-19. They will now play the Davison Cardinals for the State Title on Saturday at 1 PM at Ford Field. The Game will be televised on Fox Sports Detroit.
