Canton Football Player Profile: Caden Domzalski

It was a good football season for Caden Domzalski this season, and he said he had the best season of his high school career. “I think I had a lot of high points and just played pretty well consistently,” Domzalski said.

Domzalski played cornerback for the Chiefs and says it’s fun to play. There is a lot of pressure guarding the best receivers. “It’s definitely fun; it’s a position that has high stakes. You guard the best receiver, and it makes the game interesting. It helps you out a lot as a DB,” Domzalski added.

Domzalski also says he made a ton of progress at the position and says he got better in all aspects of the game. “Well, as a corner, I feel like over the years, I’ve progressed a lot in knowledge and coverage capabilities. At running back last year, I didn’t have a ton of reps compared to this year. I think this year, I had a great season rushing and learned a lot at that position,” Domzalski mentioned.

When it comes to preparing for a game, Domalzski says music is the biggest key when getting ready for a football game. “Music is always a key, gotta keep the energy up without peaking before a game. I think about my responsibilities and knowing as much as I can formation wise,” Domzalski said.

Football has taught Domazalski a lot throughout the years, and it will be lessons that he will keep for the rest of his life. “Throughout my four years, something I’ve always noticed is that in high-pressure moments nobody ever says it’s your fault or blames it on one guy. Instead, everyone brings each other up. In moments where it’s a big game, and you lose, everyone is upset, but it’s the leaders that pull together everyone. They make sure they know that it’s good,” Domzalski said.

Canton Football means a lot to Domzalski and says he is honored to be a part of such a historic program. “Canton Football means family. It is a tight-knit community with a great group of coaches who not only help you as a player but as a developing man in life. It’s somewhere I’ll always have super fond memories of,” Domzalski stated.

Domzalski will miss a lot about high school football, but the most significant thing he will miss is his teammates. “I think I will miss the rivalries and my team. Building a bond with guys for years on end is something most guys only get to experience in high school. Those guys you’ll be friends with for a lifetime,” Domzalski added.

With football in the rearview mirror, Domzalski turns his focus to track and field where he was a state finalist in both the 100 meters and Long Jump last year. “I’m very excited about track and field. Indoor started this week and spring track is obviously very fun. The goal is always to go back to nationals, but I want to go out and have fun with my teammates,” Domzalski said.
