After defeating North Carolina on Wednesday, the Michigan Basketball team picked up right where they left off and defeated the Purdue Boilermakers 76-57 to move to 8-0 on the year.

Once again, it was the defense for Michigan that stood out as they forced the Boilermakers to have 9 turnovers on the day. Even though Michigan had 11 turnovers on the day, it was the defense that kept them in the game.

Michigan also did very well on the offensive side of the ball as Jordan Poole was a perfect 5 for 5 from 3 point range and Poole said they were ready for the challenge that the Boilermakers had.  “We knew they were going to be aggressive like North Carolina and get out of transition, but we did a great job in defending them,” Poole said.

Also, Charles Matthews had a good day as well as he had 9 points and was 3 for 6 from the free throw line.  He also had 5 rebounds and 4 assists on the day. It was another good day for Michigan’s Jon Teske has he was 4 for 7 with also being 2 for 3 from the 3 point line.  He ended the day with 17 points.

Purdue’s Carsen Edwards had a total of 19 points and was a perfect 4 for 4 from the free throw line. Ryan Cline had 15 points and was 6 for 8 from field goal range.  This is the only time that Purdue and Michigan will meet this season,

Michigan’s next game is Monday, December 3rd against Northwestern.
