Big Ten Softball Indiana defeats Penn State 4-2

 

 

The Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Penn State Nittany Lions 4-2 in Game 3 of the Big Ten Tournament. Indiana is hosting the Big Ten Tournament this year

 

The game started off with a bang as Penn State’s Destiny Weber hit a 2 run home run to right field as the Nittany Lions got off to a 2 -0 lead in the top of the first inning. Indiana tied the game in the bottom of the second inning when Bella Norton reached on a fielder’s choice which scored Grayson Radcliffe to put Indiana on the board. It was 2-1 Penn State at the end of the second inning.

 

Indiana used a little bit of Small Ball to get their runs in the bottom of the 3rd. After a steal of home base to tie the game at 2, Indiana’s Gabbi Jenkins reached on a Penn State error from Second Base to give Indiana the lead 3-2. Maddie Westmoreland Singled through the left side which scored Gabbi Jenkins to give Indiana 4-2 lead at the end of the 3rd inning and that would be your final.

 

Indiana’s Tara Trainor picked up the win for the Hoosiers, her record improves to 26-10 on the season. Bailey Parshall takes the loss for Penn State her record falls to 11-17. Emily Goodin picks up her second save this season for the Hoosiers. Penn State finishes the season 24-32

 

Indiana will take on Northwestern Today at 4:30 on BTN.
