IMSA: Hindman ready for Challenge at Mosport

Last week, the Meyer Shank Acura # 86 earned their first win of the season at the Six Hours at the Glen at Watkins Glen and extended their points lead in the GT Daytona category.  One of the drivers on the team was Trent Hindman, who along with co-drivers Mario Farnbacher and Justin Marks, was relieved to get the win at the Glen after a disappointing run in Detroit a month ago.  “That win was sweeter because of what happened in Detroit, Hindman said. “It was a race that didn’t really go our way and the way the team responded at the Glen was awesome to see. Huge props to Mike Shank, Mario, Justin, and the team to get that big win in one of our biggest races of the year,” Hindman continued.

The IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship goes right back to the track this week as they head to the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this week.  Hindman says the team has to keep the momentum going since the team is currently leading the championship. “It’s a track that is very high speed and is a very challenging place to race at with the GTD cars.  It gets difficult to follow other cars and set up passes, so you have to be on your game at all times around this place because other cars will take advantage of you,” Hindman said.

Hindman is paired with Mario Farnbacher for the entire IMSA Season this year and says that he’s one of the best to have as a co-driver because he has learned so much from him this year. “Mario can wheel a racecar in a spectacular way.  I’ve learned a lot from him and got to know him a lot over the last year and have really become good friends over this year and hopefully, we can go win races and challenge for the championship,” Hindman commented.

With a win, last week at the Glen, Hindman stated how he wants to keep the momentum going and play offense this weekend and get another win in the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship.  “We are leading the points right now but that does not mean we need to play defense. We have to play offense and you have to be on your game to have a good day at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.”
